I Want My Nickelodeon!

With on demand on the rise I am interested in how this medium will be incorporated into todays world, specifically at events. Navigating through the miles of fanimonia at Comicon I stopped at the Nickelodeon booth to see a customizing component to their merchandise offering. One can pay $20 and design their own shirt and get it in 15 minutes. 

The Process
Wait in a short 5 minute line as you look at a variety of completed shirts, pay, wait in another 5 minute line as you watch other design / make their own shirts. Nickelodeon's user interface is easy to navigate and use with minor instruction from the teenagers running it. One has two minutes to complete a design and submit. Once done you receive a bracelet with your name. The shirts are digitally printed in the back then pressed on your chosen sized shirt. In 15 minutes or so come back they take your bracelet and hand you a customized shirt that only you and only you have. 

Thought
Although the entire thing probably cost Nick $100,000+ for this solution the impression it made to the thousands of fans was well worth it. I believe there is something here and will change events and retail as we know it.
